It is likely to be the Jets' only quality pre-season hit-out before opening their 2019-20 campaign against league heavyweights Melbourne City in Newcastle on November 17.
"We've had games amongst ourselves at training and on weekends but it's not the same as a competitive game between two W-League teams, so it will be good to see where we're at," Deans said.
"This will be the only game against a W-League side we will get a chance to play so we need to treat it like a league match and start our season in some ways this weekend."
Deans was keen to see how new recruits Annabel Martin, Nicki Flannery and Lauren Allan slot in. Martin and Flannery both join the Jets with W-League experience but Allan has not played at the top level and was signed after a stand-out season in Herald Women's Premier League for New Lambton.
Allan and Jets teammate Tara Andrews formed a formidable attacking partnership for the Eagles and Deans will be hoping the combination proves successful in W-League as well.
"I've seen enough of Nicki and Annabel over the past three or four years [in W-League] and I've worked with Annabel before but it will be nice to see them in our team and how they fit in," Deans said.
"Lauren Allan has settled in pretty well and fitness-wise she's unbelievable; she's probably the fittest in the team, so there's going to be no issues from that point of view.
"Just to get them together as a team and see how they play as a unit and work out some combinations between people will be good. It's only three new players. In my first few years you were looking at eight new players every year and it just became very difficult, so at least we've got some stability from last year."
The match will also provide the chance for former fringe players to stake claims on starting spots. Those include midfielder Libby Copus-Brown, who is likely to step into the void left by the departures of Matilda Emily van Egmond and American Arin Gilliland-Wright.

"Libby had enough opportunities last year and did well enough in three or four full games that she played to take some confidence from that," Deans said.
"She's got to take some responsibility now. She's a senior player to a degree. This will be her fourth or fifth season in W-League but is probably her first one where she expects to play and where I expect her to play, so hopefully she takes that responsibility and embraces it.
"That is going to be a theme throughout the team for a lot of them; it's time for them to take responsibility and show what they have got."
Sophie Nenadovic and Renee Pountney will miss the trip through injury and Tessa Tamplin is away on Young Matildas duties.
Deans will give goalkeepers Claire Coelho and Nicole Simonsen, who made several appearances for Western Sydney last season and signed with the Jets on Thursday, half a game each.
Coelho has been a second-choice shot-stopper for most of her W-League career but the departure of American Britt Eckerstrom has opened the door to take a lead role.
"Hopefully they can push each other," Deans said. "Claire was very good for Britt last year. They pushed each other hard and hopefully this will be the same again."
