"We knew them [the Jets] as a team would be physically very strong and I thought they bullied us," Juric said.
"They were phyiscally on us and we didn't want a bar of it. Having a chat to our girls they changed that [in the second half] and they did well.
"They [the Jets] have very good players. Tara Andrews I tried to bring over to Sydney FC last year. They are solid at the back, doing a simple but good job. Their wingers are quite good as well, quite quick.
"So at times they are dangerous on the break, but we just know their spirit. Newcastle have that spirit. Again, that's why I was a little bit upset at half-time because we showed them such disrespect by not matching that.
"They did well and they are going to cause problems for a lot of teams."
Andrews scored Newcastle's first goal in the 41st minute, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break, but Taylor Ray and Rachel Lowe both produced impressive strikes during the second half to help Sydney FC claim all three competition points.
Former Matildas forward Andrews also netted in the Jets season opener against Wanderers last weekend, extending her all-time club record to 36.
The 26-year-old is the second-most capped W-League player for Newcastle, approaching her 100th game having debuted in 2009.
Juric never secured the signature of Andrews, but did manage to nab Clare Wheeler from the Jets for this campaign.
She didn't feature against her old teammates, however, Juric expects the midfielder to return soon after injury concerns.
Newcastle are set to host unbeaten leaders Canberra on Sunday, but are still looking to open their account for 2020-21.
"This is not something that is going to get them down, I'm hoping this is a catalyst for them to keep pushing to get better," Jets coach Ash Wilson said following back-to-back losses.
