Emergency crews were called to the scene about 6pm, where they found a 30-foot cruiser alight and adrift on the water.
Firefighters floated booms around the boat to protect the environment while the NSW Rural Fire Service launched a boat into the river to help extinguish the blaze.
The flaming vessel was reportedly carrying a large quantity of fuel.
NSW Ambulance paramedics took one man to hospital for treatment.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the incident was a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero for a fire emergency could be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
