We are committed to education, providing a solid foundation in midwifery where you will be supported and encouraged to grow your knowledge of practice and develop skills in the delivery of quality care for women and newborns.

Our hospital has 168 Inpatient beds and 20 Day surgery spaces specialising in multiple areas of care such as Cardiothoracic Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Intensive Care, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Colorectal, ENT, Plastics, and Oncology.

Located in the heart of Randwick, we share a campus with Sydney Children's Hospital, Prince of Wales Public Hospital, & The Royal Hospital for Women. This provides us a unique opportunity for collaborative treatment programs.

Graduate Program

The Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Graduate Midwifery Program is suitable for junior midwives, direct entry midwife graduates, registered nurses who have completed a post graduate degree or masters in midwifery, or double degree graduates who want to focus on developing and consolidating their midwifery skills.

Our graduate program will provide you with many exciting and challenging opportunities to cement and extend your knowledge. There is a proactive, structured and enthusiastic attitude towards learning, education and team-building within the units. This supportive environment will develop your skills and confidence, enabling you to demonstrate safe, efficient and effective nursing within your first year of practice

Selection Criteria

  • Eligibility for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Ability to undertake full-time or part-time employment
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of, and ability to work within, a team
  • Australian citizenship/residency or a visa which permits employment in Australia

  • Write a one-page cover letter addressed to: Tracey Hayden
  • Include a brief CV of no more than three pages
  • Provide contact details of two professional referees (include telephone numbers and email addresses)
  • Provide a transcript of university results with key of result codes
  • Include two clinical placement summaries completed by your facilitator whilst on clinical placement (please contact us if you are unsure of this)
