‘‘I do have a real mum,’’ Eden said with a laugh this week.
She said while the show had focused on her respite carers Marilyn and Frank (Frank taught her guitar), her mum has been attending the shows.

Eden, who lives with her best friend’s mum at Tascott on the Central Coast, was placed in full-time DOCS care when she was a young teen.
She maintains she has a love-hate relationship with her mum, but ‘‘when it’s love, it’s awesome’’.
Eden has been a stand-out on the debut Australian season of The Voice.
Her vocal coach Seal said her singing brings him to tears and her performances on the show have resulted in standing ovations from all four mentors Seal, Joel Madden, Delta Goodrem and Keith Urban.
‘‘I’m trying to take the experience minute by minute. It hasn’t even sunk in yet,’’ Eden said.
The singer has already made it to the top 24 contestants on the program and must now win audience votes to stay on through the live performance episodes.
The first of the eliminations will take place on Monday.
The contestants are vying for $100,000, a recording contract with Universal and a new Ford Focus car.
Eden said she has tried to set realistic goals regarding the show.
‘‘I always wanted to make it to Seal’s top four so I could come home and charge more for gigs,’’ she joked. ‘‘Now I’m hoping I might get a career out of it.’’
Inspired by heavy rock bands as a teen, Eden’s sound has been compared to Janis Joplin. She described her mentor Seal as a father figure who understands where she is coming from musically.
