Fanning will headline the event at wineries across the country in October and November, including Bimbadgen Estate in the Hunter on November 2.
Sarah Blasko and Bob Evans are also on the bill.
"I'm really looking forward to these A Day on the Green shows," Fanning said.
"I have been hearing about them for years and am glad to be playing my new songs in such a dignified setting.
"And I'm looking forward to a couple of vinos with Bob Evans and Sarah Blasko."
Tickets to A Day on the Green go on sale from July 5 via Ticketmaster.
The announcement follows the release of Fanning's second solo album, Departures, which debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA chart last week.
