A writer for 32 years, she spends most of her spare time in her Cardiff home studio, researching life before the 1950s.
To date, she has written six novels, two of which were published.
They are Tomaree, a love story inspired by World War II, and Crossing Paths, a contemporary tale about an online book club.
Mrs Robson said she was interested in the era because she had not experienced it first hand.
"I just like looking at a different world from ours," she said.
"The present day is boring because I live in the present day and I know what it's like."
She started writing short stories in her mid-20s after her son was born but quickly turned to historical literature as her interest grew.
Mrs Robson will be reading from her latest unpublished transcript, The Grey Silk Purse, this Saturday at the Lake Macquarie Writers Showcase.
She said it was an epic tale that delved into the lives of female ambulance drivers during the Serbian campaign of World War I, around 1918.
■ The 2013 Lake Macquarie Writers Showcase will be held at the Performing Arts Centre, 39 Lake Street, Warners Bay, this Saturday, August 31, from 11am to 4pm. Entry is $5, but children are free.
