Last Sunday, The Jets were left at the bottom of the ladder after players struggled to find the net against Wellington Phoenix in Napier.
Neither team scored.
It followed a 2-0 loss to Sydney for The Jets in the season opener, and a scoreless draw with Perth a fortnight ago.
Jets coach Garry van Egmond said the return of star striker Emile Heskey this Saturday night was well anticipated.
Heskey has watched from the sidelines since he tore knee ligaments in the first round.
Newcastle hopes to score its first goal this Saturday when it goes head to head with the Central Coast Mariners at Hunter Stadium.
