The Kelton Street office will provide disability support, counselling and out-of-home care services to people in Lake Macquarie.

The new location, which was officially opened on Friday, will also consolidate services from the existing Charlestown office.

"With existing offices throughout Newcastle, Cardiff is a natural choice for us to continue to grow CatholicCare locally," CatholicCare director Helga Smit said.

"With the recent introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and the changing landscape of social services at both a national and state level, we will continue to diversify and meet the needs of the people we support throughout the local community."
