Man, woman charged after Bellbird raid

Officers attended a Prince Street house about 2.30pm on Thursday after receiving information drugs and firearms may be present at the property.

A search allegedly revealed a shortened and modified .22 calibre rifle, a ‘Stoeger’ rifle, cash, ammunition, pepper spray and drugs.

The man, 34, was charged with numerous firearm offences and goods in custody and while the woman, 28, was charged with drug possession.

Both will face Cessnock Local Court on December 10.
