The free drop-in clinic is open to those seeking advice about legal problems ranging from traffic fines to workplace discrimination.
Twenty people had visited the clinic within hours of its establishment on Tuesday morning.
Matthew Freestone is one of the 40 students eagerly waiting in the Newcastle beach club house every Tuesday for the next few weeks to put classroom theory to real life practice.
‘‘It’s really good to see how [the clinic] actually works and rewarding to give back to the community’’, the fourth year Law student.
Director of the Legal Centre Shaun McCarthy said the seaside clinic was a good environment for the group of undergraduate and postgraduate students to start their skills and gain real client experience, a major contributing factor to their degrees.
Law on the Beach will run from 9.30am-2.30pm every Tuesday until February 17.
