But according to SafeWork NSW, formerly WorkCover, the notices related access and fire and electrical safety, and the body “was not investigating complaints related to the structural integrity of the wharf”.
Swansea MP Yasmin Catley has been calling for the Minister for Primary Industries, Land and Water, Niall Blair, to release a structural assessment report carried out by NSW Public Works in December, as well as a SafeWork report she said was “scathing”.
A spokesman for SafeWork said it received a request for service in May last year “after concerns were raised about work health and safety at Pelican Marina”. He said the notices were “in relation to access to the boardwalk and floating jettys, as well as fire and electrical safety”.
