From the high of 1997, the club was barely into the 1998 season when three of its star players – Adam MacDougall, Robbie O'Davis and Wayne Richards – all tested positive for banned substances.
They all pleaded guilty and copped bans of between 11 and 22 weeks.

The star forward was sentenced to three years’ jail after he pleaded guilty to trafficking drugs.
Responding to the question on the club’s unfortunate history with drugs, Gidley said it was disappointing.
“It’s always disappointing,” he said, shaking his head.
