Police were appealing for information after firefighters were called to the Bridge Street clubhouse about 1am on Tuesday.
The fire was extinguished a short time later, and minimal damage was caused to the building.
No one was injured.
Officers from Hunter Valley Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
Initial investigations have led police to believe the fire was deliberately lit.
It comes after the Newcastle Herald reported on Tuesday detectives were investigating tit for tat attacks between members of outlaw bikie gangs in the region.
On Saturday, the Nomads’ Islington clubhouse was sprayed by bullets.
On Monday, the home of a man who is believed to be a Fink also fell victim to a drive-by shooting.
