The Maori lad and devoted churchgoer will perform some of his new songs for St Philip’s Christian College students at 11am, followed by a free concert outside the Maritime Museum, Honeysuckle, at 1pm.
Walker’s visit to Newcastle is to help promote Church180’s Random Acts of Kindness Day on Friday.
The aim is to encourage individuals throughout the Hunter to do something kind for someone else – no strings attached.
Although Walker is in town to sing at tomorrow’s launch as well as promote his latest album, his acts of kindness actually began in April. He travelled to Haiti with Warabrook-based international Christian child advocacy organisation, Compassion Australia, helping those affected by the earthquake, pictured.
Walker’s album From the Inside Out was released on August 20. His single Choose You just made it into the top 50 on the ARIA charts last week.
