The announcer, who hosts the radio program with Steve St John, moonlights as a stand-up comedienne.
Last year she joined forces with some of her favourite funny femmes in the Wild Women of Comedy shows at Lizotte’s Newcastle and Central Coast.
Levett took to the stage alongside funny women such as Busting Out!’s Bev Killick.
The women will return to Belmont 16 Footers on Saturday, February 5, and Mingara Recreation Club on February 4.
Levett is not only used to being brave on stage, but also on air.
After disappointing ratings at the end of last year, Levett and St John opened the lines up for listener feedback on their radio program last week.
Some listeners criticised Levett’s deep voice while others said the show needed to be edgier.
It was a brave move on behalf of the duo who pride themselves on being ‘‘real and honest’’.
The breakfast ratings at the end of last year put them in sixth place behind stations such as KO-FM and NX-FM, ABC1233, 2HD and Triple J respectively.
‘‘It’s not where we want to be and we don’t hide from that,’’ St John said yesterday.
‘‘Obviously we want to be number one but we can’t get there overnight. Our program is only 12months old and that’s very new by radio standards.’’
Raised on Sydney’s lower north shore, Levett studied comedy at NIDA at the age of 19. Her mother Gillian Levett ran a comedy agency for many years and Sarah has been watching stand-up since the age of eight.
Levett and St John will entertain the public this Sunday through their flood appeal at the Kent Hotel from 5pm.
They have more than $30,000 in auction items for the event, including a lap in a V8 Supercar donated by Craig Lowndes. There will also be live music and a free barbecue.
