After debuting at the location 12 months ago the national event returns this weekend, marking the first of a new five-year deal.
“We’ve signed a deal with Dantia (Lake Macquarie City Economic Development Company) to bring this to the lake for the next five years,” the championships’ NSW representative Conn Saloumidis said.
“That’s the plan for us.”
The upcoming edition will feature the world premiere of M36 by Maritimo – the first fully Australian designed and built inboard offshore raceboat.
“The eyes of the world will be on this,” Saloumidis said.
Round four of the series will be part of the Lake Mac Big Weekend, which also includes jet ski races, markets, fete, concert and exhibitions.
