FOR someone who was discovered doing pop-punk covers online, Lizzy Farrall certainly knows how to write heartfelt indie-folk. All I Said Was Never Heard is the English artist’s first EP, coming nine months after she was signed by Californian punk label Pure Noise Records.
The five-track EP is a confessional diary, illustrating Farrall’s heartbreak (Broken Toy), discovery of new love (Better With) and mental health battles (Hollow Friends).
Broken Toy exposes Farrall’s vulnerability with her voice stripped bare with a folk acoustic accompaniment. Then there’s a more typically emo-punk sound on Better With, which displays Farrall’s knack for catchy three-minute pop songs.
There’s loads of potential in Lizzy Farrall.
