It is an exciting year ahead for students at the National College of Dance with some new programs being launched for 2018.
These include a new Tiny Tots Jazz class, and Open Ballet classes for students wishing to do one class per week not associated with a syllabus or exam.
“It’s always a good time of year to try out some new classes at our school,” co-director Vicki Morgan said.
“These open classes are perfect for any student wishing to do a casual class through to serious students wishing to complete an additional ballet class.
NCD has also introduced a new boys only program with boys now having their own classes in ballet, jazz/hip hop and acrobatics.
The boys only program, introduced at the start of last year, has been extremely popular with the college now having junior and senior classes and over 40 boys enrolled.
“It’s terrific for the boys to have their own class, they have the opportunity to dance with their friends and not feel self-conscious,” artisitic director Brett Morgan said.
“They also have the chance to make friends with other boys that have the same interest. The program is geared towards how boys learn and to enhance their appreciation and love of dance.”
NCD has had enormous success with their full-time programs in 2017 with their 16 Diploma students graduating and being placed all over the world..
“Our training program for our pre-professionals has one of the highest placement ratings within Australia with our students for 2017 now in Madrid, London, New York, Iwanson Germany and Orlando,” Brett said.
Enrolments are currently open for all of NCD’s programs from Tiny Tots through to full-time registered training programs, with trial classes available..
If you’re interested in studying full-time dance, intensive training programs start from 12 years old for one day per week, three days per week with distance education, through to five day full-time training programs.
