
A WOMAN who allegedly smashed a glass window inside the King Street McDonald’s playground on Thursday morning has been arrested by police.
The 27-year-old was charged with multiple offences after allegedly fleeing the fast food restaurant as police moved to arrest her shortly after 5am.
Moments before, police allege she kicked and smashed a glass window in the children’s playground.
The woman was located a short time later at the Newcastle Interchange at Wickham.
The woman was first spotted by senior Newcastle police officer Chief Inspector Bruce McGregor.
The top cop was buying a coffee on his way to work.
The 27-year-old was charged with malicious damage, resisting arrest and goods in custody.
She will front Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.
