UPDATE:
A man missing from an aged-care facility in the Lake Macquarie area has been located safe and well.
The 87-year-old man was last seen leaving an aged-care facility on Gibson Street at Belmont about 2.40pm on Thursday 25 January 2018.
He was located safe and well on Friday 26 January 2018.
Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a missing Lake Macquarie man.
George Oliver, aged 87, was last seen leaving an aged-care facility on Gibson Street at Belmont about 2.40pm Thursday.
Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were alerted when he failed to return home to the facility.
Serious concerns are held for his welfare as he has a medical condition that requires daily medication.
It’s believed he may have travelled by train to Sydney.
George is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 170cm tall, with a medium build and grey hair.
He was last seen wearing a short-sleeve blue and white shirt, black long pants and carrying a black overnight bag.
