THE University of Newcastle’s (UON) Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine is one of the most-desired undergraduate degrees among the country’s prospective tertiary students.
The Universities Admissions Centre has revealed the 10 degrees at NSW and ACT universities that received the most first preferences, as of January 31.
Students can list up to five courses in order of preference.
If students aren’t made an offer for their first preference, they will be considered for their second preference and so on.
UON’s joint medical program, offered with the University of New England, was number five and received 746 first preferences.
The University of NSW’s Bachelor of Medicine topped the list with 1322, followed by the University of Sydney’s Bachelor of Combined Law with 1098 and University of Technology Sydney’s Bachelor of Business with 959.
