
Police are appealing for public assistance after a teenage girl was approached at Metford on Friday.
Just before 4pm the 15-year-old girl was walking on Streeton Drive at the intersection of Whitely Avenue when a white utility stopped.
The girl told police the driver, a man aged in is his 60s with a skinny build, grey/white hair and wearing a grey or white shirt, spoke to her before driving along Streeton Drive.
The girl was not harmed during the incident.
Detectives from the Port Stephens Hunter Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the man.
