The 26-year-old left-handed batsman and first-baseman was one of 28 players picked to wear the green and gold uniform in next month’s two-game exhibition series away against Japan.
"The team is excited about this international opportunity," Australian men’s team coach Steve Fish said.
"The experience that this tour provides us as a squad is invaluable.
“We need to be able to piece this together as a squad as frequently as possible in order to be ready to qualify for the 2020 Olympics."
Baseball makes a return to the Games after missing Rio 2016 and London 2012 with Australia set to visit the upcoming host nation.
The Aussies play in Nagoya on March 3 and Osaka the following day.
Moanaroa, who averaged .305 this Australian Baseball League season, was one of four from the Canberra Cavalry announced in the group on Tuesday.
The Cavalry, including four Newcastle players, lost the ABL finals series 2-1 to Brisbane last weekend.
