THERE aren’t many more visceral or explosive bands on the Australian music scene than The Drones. The four-piece’s last Newcastle show in 2016 would attest to that.
Last year Drones’ frontman Gareth Liddiard and bassist Fiona Kitschin began an side-project, the colourfully named Tropical F*ck Storm with Lauren Hammel and Erica Dunn.
The band has dropped three singles, including the latest track You Let My Tyres Down, but they’re finally preparing to release their debut album A Laughing Death in Meatspace on May 4.
Newcastle will be among the first to hear Tropical F*ck Storm’s debut record live when they perform at the Cambridge Hotel on May 4, with support from Fourteen Nights at Sea and Hey Lady.
