DANIEL Casciaroli is weighing up interest from clubs ahead of next week’s window for roster changes after leaving leaders Charlestown.
The midfielder, who played 19 games last season for Charlestown, came off the bench late in the first three matches this year but did not feature against Jaffas in round four and has not trained with the club since.
Casciaroli went to Charlestown last season from Magic, where he was their 2013 grand final man of the match.
He said he enjoyed his time at Charlestown and his leaving was “not by choice” but down to circumstances. He was focused on his business, Fruit Brothers, but said “I want to play football and there has been a bit of interest”.
Charlestown coach David Tanchevski said Casciaroli “hasn’t officially told the club he’s leaving” but they would grant a de-registration when asked.
Tanchevski said he would next week “look to maybe shuffle around two or three players if the opportunity comes up and if they fit in with what we’re doing”.
The Blues, who have Daniel Laiman (knee) and Kane Goodchild (hamstring) still sidelined, play Weston on Sunday at Lisle Carr Oval in round six.
