People of all ages stood in reflection as Maitland RSL Sub-Branch hosted the commemoration service.
Lieutenant Commander Robert Rudge from the Royal Australian Navy gave a moving address, turning all attention to the memory of those who gave the greatest sacrifice.
Breakfast at Maitland Park Bowling Club followed.
Those who missed out on the dawn event can attend the late morning service: 10.30am, march to WW1 Cenotaph; 10.55am, service.
East Maitland main march and service: Assemble at East Maitland War Memorial Centre, 225 Newcastle Road East Maitland at 11am. March to Memorial commences at 11.20 am. Commemorative Service commences at the War Memorial, William St East Maitland at 11.30 am.
Morpeth: 10.45am, ssembly point at Campbell’s Store, corner Tank and Swan Streets; 11am, parade to proceed down Swan Street to the War Memorial in front of Museum; 11.15am, service.
