Experience the unique blend of high quality teaching and learning at St Dominic’s Centre, Mayfield during their Open Afternoon on 30 May, from 5pm to 6pm.
St Dominic’s is now accepting enrolments for Kindergarten and Year 1 students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The school’s open day is the perfect opportunity for parents to learn more about the program and how it can benefit your child.
St Dominic’s provides excellent education for students with a range of disabilities including hearing impairment, Moderate Cognitive disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
St Dominic’s helps every student reach their full potential by focusing on their faith and holistic development.
With class ratios of up to seven students for one teacher and one Learning Support Assistant, students receive individualised support catering for their specific needs.
For those needing travel assistance, students enrolled at St Dominic’s are eligible for Assisted Travel, a government program that provides free travel by car to and from school within a 40km radius.
Utilising the Life Skills program, Personalised Plans and a Total Communication philosophy, St Dominic’s aims to provide students with either a smooth transition into a mainstream setting or the continuance of learning in a specialised setting.
Experience the St Dominic’s community
The open afternoon is also the perfect opportunity for visitors to talk in-depth with staff about the individual needs of their child and have any questions answered.
Visitors will be welcomed by St Dominic’s students who will escort them to the hall for the Centre’s presentation.
During the presentation, visitors will get the opportunity to meet the Centre’s wonderful educational staff and learn more about the specific academic and extra-curricular programs offered at St Dominic’s, as well as the special skills of staff members.
Tours will then be run throughout the school, showcasing the Centre’s specialist teaching and purpose-built environments, with student work also display throughout the school.
Light refreshments will be available, prepared and served by St Dominic’ students.
For visitors looking for further enrolment information, the Centre’s Registrar will be open with all the required documentation and procedures for an enrolment application.
If your child has additional needs, this open afternoon is a valuable opportunity to gain an understanding of St Dominic’s culture, missions and visions and allow your child to become familiar with the school setting.
The St Dominic’s team looks forward to welcoming you into their community.
