TILLY Murphy, aka Fritz, told the Newcastle Herald back in January her next single Biggest Fool In The World would unleash a more upbeat, pop sound and she’s wasn’t lying.
On Tuesday the Newcastle 18-year-old’s new single debuted on triple j Unearthed and it’s a massive step forward in terms of instrumentation and melody, combining ’60s doo-wop with modern indie.
Videographer and director David Fulham directed the video which depicts Raave Tapes frontman Joab Eastley rejecting Fritz cruelty at a school dance before he receives his comeuppance.
Momentum is certainly building for Fritz. She has also scored a slot on Wollongong’s Yours & Owls Festival in September that also features Angus and Julia Stone, Peking Duk, Alison Wonderland, Ocean Alley, The Jungle Giants, Methyl Ethel, Middle Kids, D.D Dumbo and Hockey Dad.
