A MAN who used a shotgun to rob a pharmacy at The Junction and a knife to hold-up staff at a supermarket at Telarah has pleaded guilty to four armed robberies.
Gregory Ian Garvey, 44, appeared in Newcastle Local Court via audio visual link from jail on Wednesday charged with a number of serious offences.
He pleaded guilty to four counts of armed robbery, while a number of other offences, including assaulting police, resisting arrest and reckless driving, will be taken into account when he is sentenced in Newcastle District Court.
Garvey was armed with a knife when he entered the IGA supermarket on South Street at Telarah about 9.15am on October 26 last year.
He made off with an amount of cash and cigarettes and about an hour later used a shotgun to hold-up staff at a pharmacy in The Junction.
He was arrested at Heatherbrae at about 11am after trying to carjack another motorist.
