NEWCASTLE law firms O’Sullivan Saddington and Co and McDonald Johnson Lawyers are set to unite. The July 1 merger will see O’Sullivan Saddington & Co, founded by the late Stephen O’Sullivan and John Saddington in 1981, operate from the Watt Street office of McDonald Johnson, founded in 1916.

McDonald Johnson Lawyers principle partner Craig Doyle said both firms had a “strong and respectable reputation” and were a “cultural fit” with regard to professional and dedicated staff.
“[Staff] will help project the larger firm further into the legal professional service market in terms of a quality and practical legal product. We are about being honest and realistic and not about gloss and spin,” he said.
Mr Saddington said the transition would be smooth for clients.
