A timetable on the Transport for NSW website showing substantial cuts to the Stockton ferry service was an “error”, according to Newcastle’s private transport operator, Keolis Downer.
The timetable, marked “valid from July 9”, showed the ferry losing 28 services every weekday. It was not on Keolis Downer’s Newcastle Transport website.
A Keolis Downer spokesperson said it was unclear how the timetable had come to be loaded onto the government’s website.
He said the ferry service would remain unchanged until Keolis Downer launched new transport timetables on July 29 in response to public complaints about the network it launched in January.
Those alterations will be announced on Wednesday, but the spokesperson would not confirm if ferry services would change.
