Video training
Hunter Local Land Services has been collaborating with Aboriginal community organisations in the Hunter region to host Aboriginal landscape video production training workshops.
The program was identified as a priority by Hunter Local Land Services Aboriginal Community Advisory Group in regards to raising awareness and capturing Aboriginal landscape stories for land management and educational outcomes.
Hunter Local Land Services is funding the program.
Fourteen representatives from local Aboriginal organisations took part in the workshops, including 10 Aboriginal Rangers from the Taree Indigenous Development Employment Limited; two Awabakal Local Aboriginal Land Council members and two land management members from the Awabakal Descendants Traditional Owner Aboriginal Corporation.
The participants learned how to operate video cameras, before heading outside to script, film and participate in their own films. The videos will be available through the Hunter Local Land Services website and facebook pages.
