A woman has been charged with drug supply after methamphetamine was found in a car at Belmont.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District stopped a Peugeot 206 on the Pacific Highway about 6pm Thursday, for the purpose of a random breath test.
The driver, a 51-year-old woman, returned a negative breath test; however police checks revealed her license was suspended.
During a search of the car, police seized methamphetamine and cash.
The driver was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station where she was charged with supply prohibited drug and deal with the proceeds of crime.
The woman from Tingira Heights was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Friday.
