All the boys demonstrated team work and sportsmanship to win the final 38-0. With obvious strength in attacking skills the boys were also relentless in defence. Issac Cameron was awarded the man of the match and Aaron Watts was the coach.

St Paul’s Booragul played St Clare’s Taree in the opens Country Cup final. Both teams progressed through the series with impressive victories and deserved their time on the big stage.

St Clare’s dominated in defence and field possession in the first half jumping out to a 10-0 lead. St Paul’s fought their way back into the game with a try to Sam Douglas and eventually trailed 16-6 at half-time. The defensive toll proved to be too much for St Paul’s as St Clare’s ran away with the game 38-10. Booragul displayed amazing tenacity throughout the game, fielding up to nine U/16’s boys. However, the athleticism and skill of Taree was far superior as they dominated the game with brutal defence and flair in attack. St Clare’s Taree progress to the Northern NSW Country Cup final and also earn a wildcard entry back into the CCC Cup.

The NSWCPS Rugby Championships were held last week in Forbes. Scrum-half Jack Kennan from St Joseph’s Merewether constantly asked questions of the defence and earned a spot in the NSW Polding side. Tom Reid from St Columba’s Adamstown worked tirelessly and showed clever instincts. Ethan Zander from St Therese’s New Lambton looked dangerous with the ball.
