
JUST ACE If you caught Phil Jamieson on Tuesday night giving his typically charismatic performance in The White Album Concert at the Civic Theatre, you’ll be pleased to know the Grinspoon frontman is coming back soon. Jamieson will perform solo in the Cambridge Hotel’s smaller warehouse room on September 1.
There’s no word of any new solo material, but you can expect stripped-back versions of Grinner classics. It’s going to be a massive night at the Cambridge with Aussie rapper 360 playing the glasshouse stage.
LET’S WIGGLE Christmas will arrive early for Newcastle children with The Wiggles announcing shows at Wests NEX on December 11 and 12. The shows will also mark the return of the popular yellow Wiggle, Emma Watkins, who missed the Newcastle shows in May due to surgery for endometriosis.
FRESH BRICKS Students from Cessnock primary schools will have the opportunity to sing Another Brick In The Wall, Pt 2 when Australia’s largest Pink Floyd tribute comes to town. Echoes Of Pink Floyd play the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre on August 24 and are using local school choirs throughout their national tour.
PARADISE FOUND Rock behemoth Gun N’Roses always lived the typical “boys club” rock’n’roll lifestyle. However, that image has been flipped on its head by Los Angeles-based Paradise Kitty, an all-girl Gunners tribute act. Paradise Kitty are on the prowl at the Small Ballroom on October 4.
COOL SINGLE Melbourne punks Clowns dropped their latest track Freezing In The Sun on Thursday and will play the Small Ballroom on September 22 to celebrate.
