With 14 sides entered, Polding finished equal first alongside the Hunter side.
Hannah Chicken, Eve Keeling, Scarlette Hynes and Hope White all played their positions strongly to help their team to victory.
Hannah Chicken’s relentless defence kept the goal count for the opposition low. Hannah’s strong performances in goal defence saw her named in the NSW PSSA side, along with Hope White.
Hannah, from St Joseph’s Taree, and Hope, from St John Baptist Maitland, will compete at the School Sport Australia event in Darwin.
Five teams from St Clare's High School recently competed at the regional futsal tournament held in Taree against schools from the Manning area, Great Lakes, Bulahdelah and Gloucester.
The under-13’s and under-19’s boys showed a high level of skill and were undefeated throughout the round games, therefore qualifying for the final.
They won the grand final against Taree High School and Manning Valley Anglican College respectively to become Manning Regional champions.
The under-16’s girls was a team of novice players who improved on the day.
They grew in confidence, became stronger and continued their success losing only one game.
They won their semi-final against an under-19 team before defeating Taree High School to become Manning Regional Champions.
All teams now progress to play in the NNSW Champion of Champions tournament at Port Macquarie from August 13-16.
