The LJ Hooker agent has several lakeside homes set to go under the hammer in rooms at their Warners Bay office next week.
One of those is a three-bedroom brick and tile cottage at 66 Skye Point Road in Coal Point.
The home, built in 1957 and in fairly original condition, is positioned on a double block 1425 square metres in size and has its own jetty, boatshed and slipway. Bidding was expected to start around $1.6 million.
“We sold a waterfront home at 61 Dilkera Avenue in Valentine this year for $2.5 million,” Mr Campbell said. “The block was 12 metres wide and 640 square metres. This one is a double block, 18 metres wide and around 1425 square metres. It is a knockdown, very similar to Dilkera which had an older home on it, but there will be a difference of $700,000 or $800,000.
“There is a big gap between the east and the west side of the lake and it shows the west is still amazing value.”
He said interest had come locally as well as from the Hunter Valley and out of Sydney.
Bidding was expected to begin around $1.4 million for a five-bedroom, two-storey waterfront residence at 8 Cabarita Lane in Fishing Point.
A four-bedroom home in Valentine’s exclusive Dilkera Avenue had attracted “massive amounts of local interest” and presented “great value around the million mark”.
A four-bedroom home on a large block with creek access at 17 Fennell Street in Fassifern also goes under the hammer.
