
Two new recruits will be added across the four major Hunter police districts as part of the latest rollout of graduates from the Goulburn academy.
Lake Macquarie Police District and Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were each allocated one probationary constable, NSW Police figures confirmed on Friday.
Newcastle Police District and Hunter Valley Police District both missed out.
The Northern Region, which contains 11 police districts and stretches from the Central Coast to the NSW-Queensland border, was allocated six new recruits – less than half the 14 probationary constables earmarked for the Western Region, which will receive the next fewest.
The three Sydney metropolitan regions were allocated a combined 211 of the 246 graduates, while 15 will be sent to the Southern Region.
Police Minister Troy Grant’s office directed the Herald’s questions to Commissioner Mick Fuller.
NSW Police did not respond to a request for comment from Mr Fuller about the allocation.
