When owners Nicole and Tom bought the property at 57 Curry Street in 2011, it was a single-level, two-bedroom home on a large block.
They leave it transformed into a modern family oasis within a short ride or walk to Merewether beach.
The residence has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and seamless indoor-outdoor flow to covered entertaining and an inground swimming pool.
“We were living up in Merewether Heights and this street was one we had always liked,” Nicole said.
“When it came on the market we thought it was an ideal spot for our growing family.
“In 2014 we renovated. We basically wanted to keep the old part of the house and blend the old with the new. We absolutely love the home – it works really well and suits family life.”
The extension and renovation was designed by CKDS Architecture and built by Core Project Group.
There are timber floors, marble bathrooms and a modern kitchen with stainless steel benchtops, marble splashback and butler’s pantry.
Downstairs are three bedrooms with two living spaces and there are two more bedrooms upstairs.
It is set for auction at Watt Street Commercial Centre on September 19 with a price guide of $2.6 million.
It is being marketed by PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
