TASTES AT THE BAY Speaking of Port Stephens, here’s one for the diary. Tastes at the Bay returns to Nelson Bay on November 2. The Tasters Trail will be back, along with the Moonshadow – TQC Cruises Jazz Luncheon Cruise, cooking demonstrations and a few new events yet to be announced.

CHECK IT OUT Ginger Meg’s, touted as “Newcastle’s first hawker-style bar and eatery”, opened on Wednesday at 212 King Street. The menu is Asian fusion and the decor, from the sneak peeks we’ve been given, is stunning. It’s open Monday to Thursday, 5pm onwards, and Friday to Sunday from noon.
