The 20-year-old polled 21 votes on Wednesday night, one more than Singleton captain-coach Andrew Scott. Scott’s Roosters teammate Sam Brasington (18) was third.
Oosterhoff, the second Bomber to win the award after Clinton Austerberry in 2005-06, was voted best on ground five times. He hit the lead in round eight after Cardiff young gun Lachlan Price, Brasington and 2017 winner Tom Yensch made the early running. Scott stormed home with 13 votes in the final six matches.
Newcastle City Novas’ Erin White and Newcastle City Stars’ Ash Hayllar shared the women’s best and fairest award on 24 votes.
Kyle Bray from Muswellbrook was the best in the plate competition.
Oosterhoff and City’s, Conor Haswell shared the most outstanding young men’s footballer. Lake Macquarie’s Holly Kozlik took home the women’s award.
Cardiff dominated the Rising Star with Lachlan Price taking home the men and Taylah Wilks the women.
Nelson Bay’s Molly Simpson won women’s best first year player.
