Regardless of Saturday’s result in Kurri’s elimination semi-final at Maitland or how far the Bulldogs progress in next month’s play-offs, the Newcastle Rugby League veteran wants to go around again in 2019.
“I’m not going to hang them up,” the 35-year-old playmaker told the Newcastle Herald.
“I’m not going to let age get the best of me. While ever I’m still competing and challenging the younger guys I’m going to keep playing.
“Hopefully I get another contract at Kurri next year and I’ll probably re-sign up there.”
The former NSW Country representative and multiple premiership winner, with both Maitland and Wests, arrived at Kurri in 2018 and returned to the field last month just 26 days after mid-season surgery on his ankle.
* SOUTHS are set to make a straight swap for Sunday’s qualifying semi-final against Central at St John Oval with injured Daniel Martine (knee) more than likely replaced by returning Jarrod Flanagan (hamstring).
* LAKES centre Josh Charles, who has been battling with a calf injury all season, is one of only three surviving players from the club’s last premiership in 2015. Casey Burgess and Matt Craig are the others.
* CESSNOCK are the sole club without a team from any grade playing semis in 2018.
* THE last time Wests, who have missed the semis for the first time since 1979, had to wait at least four seasons between top-grade major premierships was from 1993 to 1996. Most recently the Rosellas won three straight (2012-2014).
* SCONE claimed all four Group 21 grand finals at Aberdeen on Sunday.
