A man will appear in court after allegedly fleeing police twice during a pursuit which started in Lake Macquarie overnight.

Shortly after 11.30pm Wednesdayofficers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District stopped a Holden Commodore on Main Road at Glendale for the purposes of a random breath test.
As the officers walked towards the vehicle the driver accelerated away and a police pursuit commenced.
A short time later the officers terminated the pursuit due to safety concerns.
About 11.45pm the Holden was again sighted by police travelling north on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Killingworth and a second pursuit commenced.

The pursuit was again terminated as the Holden entered a work zone on the motorway.
Just after midnight the Holden was detected by police and pursued on Newcastle Link Road at Cameron Park.
The Holden continued along Minmi Road until it struck a tyre deflation device on Main Road at Edgeworth.
The vehicle continued with deflated tyres until it stopped in Fifth Street at Cardiff.
When the 30-year-old male driver tried to escape on foot he was arrested.
The man was taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with numerous offences including police pursuit not stop, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and DV offences.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.
