DEFENDING Newcastle Baseball premiers Toronto moved through to the grand final after beating Belmont 8-1 in the major semi-final on Sunday.
Toronto jumped on Belmont early, scoring six in the first dig, and although Belmont rallied the damage had been done.
Jason McAdam was brilliant on the mound for Toronto, while with the bat Boss Moanaroa, who plays in the Australian Baseball League for Canberra Cavalry, hit a booming home run.
Best for Belmont was veteran Greg Allen with two hits.
Belmont get a chance to bounce back on Sunday when they meet White Sox in a sudden-death grand final qualifier at Waterboard Oval.
The first pitch will be thrown at 2pm.
In lower-grade news, University and Belmont earned congratualtions in fifth and sixth grade respectively for their grand final wins on Saturday.
AA League grand finals will be contested this Saturday at Miller Field, Belmont.
