Just after 10.30pm Tuesday, emergency services were called to a blaze on Main Road.
When fire fighters arrived at the scene the weatherboard cottage was already fully engulfed and the roof had collapsed.
Luckily all of the residents managed to flee the property and were found safely outside the house.
A neighbour, who was a former fire fighter, had already done a check of the home’s occupants when emergency services arrived. The neighbour has been praised by NSW Fire and Rescue crews for her quick thinking and help at the scene.
It took eight crews more than three hours to bring the fire under control. Protection lines were run either side of the property to ensure the blaze did not spread. Main Road was closed to traffic while emergency services worked to stop the blaze.
Police will be on scene on Wednesday to investigate the cause of the fire.
