The region is expected to get an early taste of summer with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting temperatures to skirt just below 30 degrees Celsius.
The sunny September day forecast is:
- Newcastle – 28
- Maitland – 29
- Singleton – 29
- Gosford – 28
- Scone – 28
Beachwatch’s Dave Anderson has forecast freshening sea breezes giving the feel of a change of season. Those looking for a swim or a paddle should get in early while conditions are cleanest, before chopping up for the afternoon.
Swell dropping off from the East to S/E at 1m.Winds North Tending N/E.
Shallow afternoon low tide and some kelp at Nobbys, while water temperatures sit at 15 degrees.
The hot conditions are due to a trough extending from the northern inland to the Central West slopes.
This trough over inland New South Wales is moving east and will bring a southerly change to the coastal areas later today.
There is the chance of a thunderstorm this evening, but little or no rain is expected to fall in the Upper Hunter where it is needed.
