BEACHWATCH
Another good morning coming up for a surf. Light offshore with a run-out tide will suit most beaches. Conditions will start to drop during the afternoon’s incoming tide.
Swell from the south-east to east at about one metre. Wind north to north-west freshening north-east during the afternoon.
Better breaks in the northern corners and check out Newcastle Beach, South Bar and Cliff for the early. Cowrie, Bar Beach and Merewether towards high. Burwood, Redhead and Frenchman’s to the south. Boxy and Birubi up at Port Stephens.
Slight sweeps and southern corners sanding up. Only swim in the flagged areas of the patrolled beaches and listen out for lifeguards. Water temperature 17 degrees. – Dave Anderson
