John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins are joining forces for a summer tour that includes A Day On The Green at Bimbadgen on February 16.

Billed as the Coming Home tour, the name reflects both the title of Butler’s new album and the fact that it will reunite two artists whose early careers were closely intertwined. In 2004 Higgins was supporting John Butler Trio at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on the night that her debut hit Scar went to number one. The pair won their first ARIA Awards as Best Male and Best Female artists in 2004 and 2005 respectively and even shared their first Rolling Stone cover together. This will be their first national tour together in nearly 15 years. They will be joined at Bimbadgen by Dan Sultan and Stella Donnelly.

John Butler Trio release their first album in four years, Home, on September 28. And it’s been a good year for Higgins. Her album Solastalgia hit the top five and she opened for Ed Sheeran during his record-breaking run of concerts. Tickets to A Day On The Green on February 16 are on sale at noon on September 21 through Ticketmaster.
