Ten students from the National College of Dance at Lambton have been selected to perform with the Imperial Russian Ballet at the Civic Theatre in October.
The students, aged between 8 and 11, will perform in the ‘A Russian Triple Bill’ national tour when it stops in Newcastle on October 7.
National College of Dance owner Brett Morgan said the selection was an “amazing opportunity” for the young dancers, one which “most can only dream of”.
“These kids get to dance alongside world class ballerina's in this piece from Sleeping Beauty and we couldn’t be prouder of them,” he said.
Russian Ballet Company’s Arcadie Nazarenco recently held a rehersal with the students.
He put the kids through their paces to ensure they are ready for their roles in the performance of Sleeping Beauty, which is the first act of the ‘Triple Bill’ they are performing in.
The students have been rehearsing since April and are extremely excited to be a part of such a special performance.
